About The Position

SmartTrust® is a leading Unit Investment Trust (UIT) sponsor dedicated to providing high-quality growth and income investments. With a history dating back to 2003 and significant growth since 2020, SmartTrust® manages over $2 billion in UIT assets as of December 2025. The company is seeking an experienced External Wholesaler, based in the Ohio/Western Pennsylvania area, to join its expanding team. This role involves partnering with internal wholesalers and staff to cultivate strong selling relationships with Financial Professionals and drive asset growth within an assigned territory, leveraging SmartTrust®'s diverse UIT offerings.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education/experience
  • Series 7 license
  • Strong financial industry and capital markets knowledge
  • Strong customer relationship management and servicing skills
  • Strong verbal communication skills and the ability to present effectively over the phone, combined with strong written communication skills.
  • A genuine desire to help others on the team and those to whom you are selling
  • Excellent interpersonal, relationship management, and organizational skills
  • Enthusiastic and results-oriented
  • Ability to prioritize work in a fast-paced environment

Nice To Haves

  • 3 years of wholesaling experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Develop relationships with Financial Advisors through meetings and outbound calls.
  • Assist financial professionals in finding solutions to their clients’ financial concerns and goals.
  • Partner with an experienced internal sales force to grow a regional and national footprint.
  • Respond knowledgably to inbound product, sales, and service requests.
  • Build and maintain strong partnerships with key decision makers, including senior management, to grow and build your region and business.
  • Participate in sales idea roundtable discussions and feedback sessions.
  • Track prospects and existing relationships through a sales process using the organization's internal Customer Relationship Management platform.
  • Work with the internal wholesaler to establish an effective advisor meeting schedule.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with individual investment advisors while providing sales support.
  • Help investment advisors increase their business by updating them on current marketing materials, generating and communicating sales ideas, and informing them of upcoming webinars/seminars in their area.
