Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry. This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use. Purpose of Position: Position that manages complex key projects with External/Contract Manufacturing Partners that enable quicker, smoother growth and cost effectiveness for products in OCS Division. This position will work cross functionally and Globally with Manufacturing Operations, Supply Chain, Product Engineering, PLM, GSM & Quality.

Requirements

  • Engineering bachelor’s degree, master’s degree preferred
  • Minimum 8-10 years’ experience in Engineering & Manufacturing environment and Project Management
  • Minimum 5 years working on major global projects
  • Understanding of Product Structures, BOM, AVL
  • Proficiency with PDM, ERP/MRP systems

Responsibilities

  • Ensure that External Manufacturers and key suppliers meet requirements for critical projects
  • Analyze and optimize forecasts to match production schedules and customer deliveries
  • Analyze inventory data with recommendations to help position the business to lowest inventory level while supporting revenue targets
  • Understand and manage product BOM, AVL, Process Maps and associated data
  • Escort product data, from design stages through NPI and volume manufacturing into EOL stage.
  • Develop and maintain impact metrics and score cards to maintain execution traceability
