About The Position

Ambler Metals LLC is looking for an experienced External Affairs Coordinator to join our team. Ambler Metals is an independently operated mining company exploring the highly prospective Ambler Mining District in Alaska, known as the Upper Kobuk Mineral Projects (UKMP), home to some of the world's richest known copper-dominant polymetallic deposits. The External Affairs Coordinator is responsible for planning, developing and facilitating a stakeholder communications and engagement plan and for development of message and use of media for external communication. He/she will also be responsible to manage the community and government affairs of Ambler Metals. This position requires exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, strong knowledge of and familiarity with the Upper Kobuk region of Alaska and its people, knowledge of mining and mineral exploration, and be driven by ethical behaviors of integrity, trust, honesty, and mutual respect.

Requirements

Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
Strong knowledge of and familiarity with the Upper Kobuk region of Alaska and its people
Knowledge of mining and mineral exploration
Driven by ethical behaviors of integrity, trust, honesty, and mutual respect
3-5 years' experience in communications, public relations, or natural resource management
Pass a thorough background check
Comply with Ambler Metals Drug and Alcohol policy adhering to pre-employment, post-accident and for cause testing

Nice To Haves

Bachelor of Science degree in Communications, Community Relations, Natural Resource Management or Alaska Native Studies preferred
Experience working with, and understanding of the needs of our Alaska Native communities is ideal
