About The Position

SUNY Sullivan is a forward-looking, top-tier community college in New York offering over 40 degree programs, certificates, and micro-credentials for learners at all levels of their educational goals. SUNY Sullivan is seeking several skilled professionals to serve as Adjunct Instructors in Business (part-time) starting in August 2026. This position involves teaching college-level business courses, both in-person and online. Course assignments may include a range of foundational and specialized topics such as Principles of Sales, Marketing, Advertising, Project Management, Business Mathematics, and Accounting.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Business Administration (MBA) or a closely related business field (e.g. Management, Marketing, Accounting, Finance) from an accredited institution
  • Minimum of five (5) years professional experience in business, management, or a related field
  • Prior teaching, training, or professional mentoring experience (higher education teaching preferred)
  • Demonstrated knowledge of core business disciplines such as management, marketing, accounting, and/or business operations.
  • Experience integrating real-world business practices and current industry trends into instruction
  • Proficiency with instructional technology, including learning management systems, digital gradebooks, and online communications tools
  • Ability to teach effectively in both in-person and online learning environments
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in an academic setting

Responsibilities

  • Teach college-level business courses in both in-person and online formats, fostering an engaging and inclusive learning environment
  • Develop and deliver lesson plans aligned with established curriculum and course learning outcomes
  • Evaluate and assess student performance based on course objectives using clear and consistent grading practices
  • Provide academic support, mentorship, and career guidance to students as needed
  • Maintain regular office hours (on campus and/or virtually) and communicate professionally with students and colleagues
  • Incorporate current business practices, technologies, and industry trends into course content
  • Uphold college policies related to attendance, academic integrity, and professionalism
  • Maintain accurate course records, including attendance and grades, and submit required documentation by established deadlines
  • Participate in department meetings, professional development, and college initiatives including occasional evening or weekend activities
