EDAG is hiring an Exterior Trim Design Engineer to develop automotive exterior trim parts from early concepts through detailed design maturation. The role involves creating and refining A-surfaces and engineering surfaces while preserving design intent and downstream manufacturability; defining part geometry, interfaces, attachment features, locating schemes, and datum structures; and applying GD&T to support tolerance stack-up reviews and achieve fit, function, and assembly targets. The engineer works with DREs, styling, manufacturing, suppliers, quality, and tooling teams to resolve design issues, applies DFM principles, and incorporates feedback from toolmakers and manufacturing engineers. The role also supports design reviews, prototype builds, tool reviews, part inspections, and engineering changes, and maintains accurate models, drawings, and product data in 3DEXPERIENCE (3DX). The position is a six-month contract based in Dearborn, Michigan, or Long Beach, California.
