Design Engineer - Exterior Trim

Goken•Long Beach, CA

About The Position

The Design Engineer will support engineering design and development activities for exterior trim products, developing part models from early concepts through detailed design maturation in CATIA 3DX. The role involves creating and refining A-surfaces and engineering surfaces while preserving design intent and downstream manufacturability, and defining part geometry, interfaces, attachment features, locating schemes, and datum structures. The engineer applies GD&T and supports tolerance stack-up reviews to meet fit, function, and assembly targets. Additional work includes creating part specifications and bills of materials, coordinating with surrounding component business units and suppliers, and performing cost analysis, strength calculations, and material selection. The engineer is expected to use current technology and established practices to improve products and processes, increase efficiency, and reduce design and part costs. Travel to client sites is required.
