About The Position

Epiphany School is seeking a dynamic and experienced Extended Day Program Lead Teacher to join our team. This role is responsible for planning, implementing, and supervising engaging activities for students in our after-school program. The Extended Day Program Lead Teacher will create a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment that aligns with Epiphany School's mission and values. This position involves working with students from pre-kindergarten through fifth grade, fostering their social, emotional, and intellectual growth outside of regular school hours. The ideal candidate will be passionate about child development, possess strong leadership skills, and be committed to promoting diversity and inclusion.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Child Development, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience working with elementary-aged children in an after-school or childcare setting.
  • Demonstrated experience in curriculum development and activity planning.
  • Strong understanding of child development principles and best practices in early childhood education.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse student populations and families.
  • CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
  • Background check clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree in a related field.
  • Experience in a leadership or supervisory role.
  • Knowledge of Reggio Emilia or other play-based learning philosophies.
  • Bilingual abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement age-appropriate curriculum and activities for the Extended Day Program.
  • Supervise and guide students in daily activities, ensuring a safe and positive environment.
  • Foster social-emotional learning and positive peer interactions.
  • Communicate effectively with parents, guardians, and school staff regarding student progress and program activities.
  • Maintain accurate records of student attendance and participation.
  • Collaborate with the Extended Day team to ensure smooth program operations.
  • Uphold Epiphany School's mission, values, and commitment to diversity and inclusion.
  • Manage program supplies and resources efficiently.
