About The Position

The Extended Day Director is responsible for the supervision of the after-care program, managing student check-in and check-out, and ensuring the proper supervision of students at the end of the regular school day. This role involves planning and leading activities, reinforcing learning concepts, implementing disciplinary strategies, and serving as a role model for students. The director must also adhere to all school and Catholic Schools Office policies and procedures.

Requirements

Must be a role model for students.
Must wear appropriate business casual clothing.
Must understand and practice Safe Environment protocol at all times.
Must provide accountability for assigned students.
Must be able to use disciplinary strategies such as positive reinforcement, time to teach, and other positive behavior management.
Must be able to lead classroom activities.
Must be able to plan, prepare, and develop various activities for use in the classroom.

Responsibilities

Oversees and manages the after-care program.
Checks students in and out from after care, ensuring that all policies and procedures for student pick up are enforced.
Oversees the extended day assistant to ensure proper supervision of all students.
Plans, prepares, and develops various activities for use in the classroom, which could include activity sheets, drawings, and hands-on activities.
Leads classroom activities.
Assists children, individually or in groups, with lesson assignments or activities to reinforce learning concepts.
Uses disciplinary strategies as structured and implemented by the school such as positive reinforcement, time to teach, and other positive behavior management.
Attends pertinent After-School staff meetings throughout the year.
Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
Provides accountability for assigned students, including knowing and approving of student locations at all times.
Understands and practices Safe Environment protocol at all times.
Serves as a role model for students, which includes appropriate business casual clothing.
Abides by all policies as outlined in the Catholic Schools Office Handbook of Policies and Procedures for Elementary and Secondary Schools.
