About The Position
Morning Star School is seeking a dedicated and energetic Extended Day Assistant to join its after-school team. The assistant works alongside the Extended Day Director to provide a safe, engaging, and supportive environment for students with varying exceptionalities. The role is suited to someone who is patient, proactive, and passionate about creating positive recreational and social experiences for students.
Requirements
- Experience working with children.
- Ability to actively engage in outdoor activities and physical play.
- Strong communication, teamwork, and behavior management skills.
- Must pass a Level II background screening.
Responsibilities
- Plan and lead interactive games, crafts, and recreational activities tailored to students' needs and interests.
- Actively supervise and participate in outdoor play and physical activities in various weather conditions.
- Implement positive behavior support strategies to encourage appropriate social interactions, conflict resolution, and a peaceful environment.
- Assist the Extended Day Director with daily setup, attendance tracking, snack distribution, clean-up, and student dismissal procedures.
