About The Position

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Classroom Aide to support our extended care program after school hours. The ideal candidate will assist in providing a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for children, actively supervising and interacting with their activities, and social interactions. The hours for this position are Monday-Friday, 1:30-5:30PM with 2 positions available.

Requirements

High school student (Junior or Senior) - or - High School diploma or GED.
State mandated 45-hour coursework completion or ability to complete within established timeframes.
Experience in a childcare or educational setting preferred.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with students, parents, and staff.
Patience, empathy, and a genuine love for working with children.
Basic knowledge of child development and educational practices.
First Aid and CPR certification or ability to obtain within 90 days.
Provide effective and nurturing teacher-child interactions.
Plan and implement learning experiences that ensure effective curriculum implementation.
Set and maintain professional boundaries with families.
Use technology to plan, record, report and monitor education and child development services.
Speak, read and write English; bilingual language(s) is helpful.
Solve problems and make appropriate decisions.
Manage time, solve problems and make appropriate decisions in varying situations.
Work collaboratively and cooperatively with fellow staff, parents, and community representatives.

Responsibilities

Supervise and engage with the children during after-school hours, ensuring their safety and well-being.
Interact and actively supervise children students in their activities, providing guidance and support as needed.
Plan and implement age-appropriate recreational and educational activities.
Foster a positive and inclusive atmosphere that encourages social interaction and teamwork.
Communicate effectively with parents, teachers, and staff regarding student progress and any concerns.
Maintain a clean and organized classroom environment.
