Express Lanes Supervisor [San Francisco, CA]
About The Position
Under the general direction of the Express Lanes Operations Manager, the Express Lanes Supervisor is responsible for supporting the Express Lanes Operations Manager with managing the day-to-day operations of the Bay Area Express Lanes. The Supervisor's role is to provide supervision, guidance, and training to Express Lanes Operators and to assist the Operations Manager in meeting and exceeding the contractual performance measures established for this operational team/work unit. This role is located at the Regional Operations Center (ROC) located at 375 Beale Street in San Francisco, CA.
Requirements
- High School Degree, or equivalent
- Over three (3) years years of experience in transportation, public safety, and/or commercial operations
- One (1) year minimum client service/relations experience
- Commitment to outstanding client service
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, especially with clients and/or partner agencies
- Proficiency in computing and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Excellent computer and data entry skill with attention to detail and focus on accuracy
- Able to work in a small team environment
- Ability and desire to lead by example
- Experience training others
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
- Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask
- Strong work ethic
- Interest in Bay Area transportation and regional government
- General knowledge and interest in Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) and traffic management standards
- Flexibility and dependability
- Good time and task management skills
- Ability and willingness to work alternate schedules and function as essential personal (including during regional emergencies)
Responsibilities
- Support the Express Lanes Operations Manager with day-to-day operations of the Regional Operations Center including but not limited to monitoring, reporting, and documenting on toll system equipment status, roadway incidents, and the Express Lanes Dynamic Pricing Algorithm
- Supervise and lead the work of Express Lanes Operators and provide guidance and training
- Lead and mentor staff within the program consistent with program and Iteris values
- Coordinate and communicate with multiple agency and consultant partners and clients
- Monitor staff performance and attendance
- Review shift reports before they are sent to program management
- Ensure Express Lanes operations staff compliance with the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Support Express Lanes operations tasks during peak travel periods and as needed
- Support Operations Manager with staff management
- Assist with preparation and development of training materials
- Assist with training of new hires and ongoing training
- Review and implement SOP updates with Express Lanes Operators
- Prepare weekly system reports as directed by the Express Lanes Operations Manager
- Review Toll System Integrator monthly/annual Preventive Maintenance activities
- Assist the Express Lanes Operations Manager with SOP updates
- Assist the Express Lanes Operations Manager with ad hoc projects as needed
- Cover the duties of the Express Lanes Operations Manager when absent
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Express Lanes Operations Manager or Program Management
- Act as essential personnel during emergency events as needed to support MTC operations needs
