About The Position
The Expo assists in ensuring kitchen orders are prepared in a timely manner. This role finalizes the presentation of each plate, checks that food is at the appropriate temperature, and communicates with runners and servers to deliver complete orders. The Expo works in a fast-paced restaurant environment and supports accurate, high-quality service through careful attention to presentation, order requirements, sanitation, and communication.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- At least 1 year of experience in fine dining hospitality and/or a casual dining restaurant.
- Ability to multitask.
- Ability to stand for long periods, lift 25 pounds, and bend, climb, or work in confined spaces.
- Customer-service-focused and solution-oriented approach.
- Ability to succeed in a fast-paced work environment.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule based on restaurant needs.
- A food handler's card may be required according to local and/or state regulations.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Attention to detail and focus on presentation.
- Ability to work in high-pressure situations.
Responsibilities
- Clean food preparation areas, cooking surfaces, and utensils.
- Work on several different orders simultaneously.
- Maintain sanitation, health, and safety standards in work areas.
- Read food order slips or receive verbal instructions about food required by patrons, and confirm proper preparation before plating.
- Verify that prepared food meets quality and quantity requirements.
- Communicate with runners and servers to ensure complete orders are delivered.
- Clean, stock, and restock workstations and display cases.
- Adhere to all state and local licenses.
