About The Position

The Exploration Geologist’s role is to traverse remote, undiscovered territory and collect valuable data by conducting geological fieldwork and performing other specialized field support work on different projects. This role will support drilling and exploration programs through geological logging, sampling, data management, and reporting activities. This role’s critical contribution to the success of the company is to yield acute, consistent and accurate geological data that can be relied upon to identify and target areas of interest, leading to future drill programs and potential discovery of large mineral deposits. The job will involve fieldwork during active exploration projects, with a rotation-based schedule of approx. 3 weeks on and 1 weeks off subject to change based on program needs, weather or other logistical constraints. The Exploration Geologist will report directly to Geologist Project Manager.

Requirements

  • Geology degree (BSc.), Earth Sciences and Environmental procedures.
  • Strong computer and data management skills.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
  • Legally entitled to work in Canada
  • Valid First Aid Standard.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in mineral exploration or drilling programs preferred 1-3 years.
  • Experience with RC/RAB is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct RAP/RC chip logging using XRF.
  • Monitor and maintain geological databases and ensure accurate data entry.
  • Perform QA/QC procedures and sample tracking.
  • Supervise drilling and sampling activities in the field.
  • Perform Optical Televiewer (OTV) data acquisition and support interpretation of structural data.
  • Communicate geological findings and any inconsistencies with technical teams.
  • Prepare daily reports using Fulcrum.
  • Ensure compliance with company safety and environmental procedures.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Geologist Project Manager.
  • Maintaining a clean, safe, and organized camp environment.
  • Assisting with wall tent assembly and teardown for efficient mobilization.
  • Sharing daily chores, including cooking, cleaning, and securing wood and water.
  • Ensuring all camp equipment is functional and well-maintained.
  • Charging electronic tools and radios daily to ensure workday readiness.
  • Follow all company Health and Safety protocols.
  • Report all hazards, incidents, injuries, and non-conformances.
  • Uphold employee safety rights, including the right to refuse unsafe work.
  • Maintain professionalism in the field, camp, and transit; participate in safety meetings and Emergency Response Plans.
  • Wear and maintain required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Represent GroundTruth’s core values of social and environmental responsibility to all stakeholders.
  • Maintain professional conduct on projects and within local communities.
  • Ensure confidentiality and maintain transparent communication with management.
