About The Position

Since Beneva's creation, an Executive Vice-Presidency has been established, along with a centralized project office to orchestrate all initiatives, projects, and programs, as well as portfolios within the organization. The expert project manager reports to the Director of the Project Office. Their primary role is to plan, manage, and implement large to very large-scale projects and initiatives that support the organization's strategic plans and objectives. Their involvement is for cross-functional projects that have major impacts across the entire company. They are called upon to take charge of important corporate programs and/or play the role of portfolio manager. These initiatives/projects/programs are characterized by the involvement of multiple sectors, significant complexity, or a large number of resources to coordinate. Furthermore, their direct stakeholders are generally leaders, VPs, or Executives, requiring the project manager to collaborate, advise, and influence at a strategic level. Finally, in certain specific situations, this expert may be called upon to take charge of or collaborate on special audit, recovery, or implementation of important recommendations mandates. They ensure the performance of all areas required for the strategic projects entrusted to them, including technological aspects, and strongly coordinate business aspects, including change management (training, communication). They also contribute to various deliverables associated with pre-project stages and the evolution of the project portfolio management process in place within the company.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (IT, Management Information Systems, Administration, or other)
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in project, program, or portfolio management contexts
  • Five (5) to seven (7) years of experience in managing large-scale projects or programs
  • Experience as a leader in projects using the Agile philosophy (Safe, Scrum)
  • Proficiency and experience with project portfolio management concepts and have produced pre-project deliverables such as business cases (an asset)
  • Good knowledge of business areas related to the insurance sector
  • Good knowledge of tools specific to their area of expertise (CA-PPM)
  • Advanced proficiency in French, both spoken and written
  • Intermediate proficiency in English, both spoken and written, due to the nature of tasks or interactions with English-speaking colleagues, partners, clients, or suppliers, or to meet the company's growth objectives.

Nice To Haves

  • Certification in project management (PMP, MGP, etc.) and/or an Agile certification (Safe, Scrum) (an asset)

Responsibilities

  • Be responsible for the planning and execution of large-scale and cross-functional projects.
  • Understand business issues, identify needs, and propose strategies to support project completion or process improvement.
  • Fully utilize project management tools, methods, and techniques, guided by the Agile philosophy, to manage large-scale initiatives.
  • Coordinate activities to execute roadmaps in close collaboration with the portfolio leadership team.
  • Ensure effective communication and collaboration among all stakeholders involved in portfolio initiatives.
  • Monitor work progress, ensure adherence to initiative directions and priorities, and implement mechanisms for tracking and benefit recovery.
  • Produce required metrics and measures, analyze them, and implement necessary actions to ensure performance. Ensure periodic portfolio updates and produce progress reports.
  • Supervise project-associated resources; foster engagement and mobilize people in completing planned tasks and proactively manage activities.
  • Define realization, testing, implementation, training, and change management strategies with relevant stakeholders.
  • Lead and prepare various governance committees.
  • Ensure post-implementation results are satisfactory for the client and transfer the project to operational mode.
  • As a member of the project office, act as an ambassador in implementing agility within the organization, actively participate in communities of practice, and contribute to the evolution of tools and processes.
