Requirements

  • PhD in cell biology, bioengineering, cancer biology, or a related discipline; or MS in a related field with 4+ years of relevant research experience.
  • Working knowledge of at least one of the focus areas: renal, pancreatic, lung, or colon biology.
  • Experience with molecular biology techniques such as IF, IHC, western blotting, and flow cytometry.
  • Experience with advanced microscopy techniques (confocal, light sheet, high-content imaging) for assessing the phenotype of complex models and kinetic assays.
  • Excellent communication skills – verbal and written.
  • Works well both as a team and as an individual.
  • Demonstration of excellent team player skills, very strong attention to detail, very strong problem-solving skills, a high level of learning agility, and the ability to work across functions. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic and self-motivated, with the leadership and communication skills necessary to operate effectively in a fast-paced multidisciplinary environment with flexibility and an adaptable approach to goal delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Establish, expand, and maintain patient-derived and tissue-specific organoid cultures. Independently optimize protocols for improved fidelity, maturation, and biological relevance.
  • Independently develop, troubleshoot, and improve complex co-culture model systems incorporating primary human tumor cells, fibroblasts, immune cells, and microenvironment components to deliver robust scientific answers.
  • Establish and optimize novel in vitro assays using 3D organotypic models, complex co-cultures, organoids, transwell systems, air-liquid interface, and/or organ-on-a-chip platforms representing both healthy and disease states to support discovery oncology programs.
  • Design and execute semi- or high-throughput endpoint and kinetic assays for safety and efficacy screening of molecules during early discovery using advanced microscopy.
  • Perform 3D cell culture assays, including viability, proliferation, differentiation, and drug response studies, using cellular and molecular biology techniques such as CellTiter-Glo, Western blotting, ELISA, flow cytometry, and immunofluorescence staining.
