About The Position

The In Vitro Scientist sets up and conducts in vitro experiments according to protocols and standard operating procedures, efficiently completing project procedures with minimal supervision. The role may involve performing procedures under aseptic conditions, maintaining cell lines, and preparing test solutions. The scientist also assists with developing and executing novel testing protocols and assay development, keeps precise records in accordance with good laboratory practices, and assists with report writing. The role oversees laboratory assays and day-to-day procedures, maintains the laboratory assay schedule, and leads training for In Vitro Scientists. All PSL safety requirements must be followed; other duties may be assigned. This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Candidates within commuting distance of South Brunswick Township, New Jersey, are encouraged to apply. The pay range is $25–$35 per hour, depending on related experience and qualifications.

Requirements

At least 2 years of industry experience with cell culture.

Nice To Haves

B.S. degree or equivalent experience in laboratory animal medicine, toxicology, animal science, or biology.
Hands-on experience in a GLP setting.

Responsibilities

Set up and conduct in vitro experiments in accordance with protocols and standard operating procedures.
Carry out procedures needed to complete each project efficiently and with minimal supervision.
Perform procedures under aseptic conditions when appropriate.
Assist in the development and execution of novel testing protocols and overall assay development.
Maintain cell lines.
Prepare test solutions according to directions.
Maintain precise records in accordance with good laboratory practices.
Assist in writing reports.
Follow all PSL safety requirements.
Oversee laboratory assays and day-to-day procedures.
Create and maintain the laboratory assay schedule.
Lead training of In Vitro Scientists.
Perform other duties as assigned.
