About The Position

This role is for an individual who wishes to become a Home/Property Claims Expert. If you do not yet have your claims adjuster license, no problem: we will train you and support you in obtaining it. To succeed in this role, experience related to housing/buildings is important, for example: building inspection, estimation, damage restoration, or construction. Work locations include Montreal (2020, boul. Robert-Bourassa), Laval (600, rue Lucien-Paiement), or Saint-Hyacinthe (2450, rue Girouard Ouest), Quebec (5700 Boul des Galeries). The schedule is 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday to Friday (35 hours/week). The anticipated start date is October 22, 2026. This is a new role within our growing team.

Requirements

• Motivation to evolve in the compensation field.
• Relevant experience (e.g., building/estimation/damage restoration/construction; knowledge of building mechanics is an asset).
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
• Analytical skills, judgment, and rigor in file handling.
• Strong time management skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Comfortable with computer tools and systems.
• Bilingualism French/English required: Must be able to answer calls and provide service to an English-speaking clientele on a regular basis.
• To obtain your claims adjuster license, you must meet one of the following criteria: College Diploma (DEC) OR 3 years of transferable full-time experience, AND a High School Diploma (DES/DEP – at least 60 units) or equivalent (CEES / equivalence attestation).

• Knowledge of building mechanics is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Gather the version of facts from insureds or witnesses and document the events.
• Analyze applicable coverages and determine if the claim is covered.
• Evaluate the information gathered, establish necessary decisions (responsibility, file analysis) and review damage assessments.
• Settle claims fairly and equitably: validate damages, negotiate as needed, and process payments.
• As needed, open new claim files by phone and ensure rapid support for the situation.
