About The Position

Performs all phases of part machining including cost estimating, review of technical data, process definition, tooling identification, CNC file development, setup, rough and finish machining, and machine tool identification. Provides support to Project Managers or Engineering personnel in scheduling, data gathering, report preparation, and documentation. Participates in test or project events, reporting project status and results. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

20+ years of professional experience in the required task area required
Must be a US citizen
Ability to obtain a security clearance may be required
Able to assess, install, and modify equipment, and inspect machinery
Able to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, grasp and reach with hands and arms, handle and operate hand/power tools and machine controls
Perform frequent wrist, hand, and finger movements
Prolonged periods of standing while operating machinery
Adhere to all safety protocols, including wearing appropriate safety gear (e.g., eyewear, gloves, masks, hearing protection, etc.) for the assigned task
Able to safely lift and carry up to 50 pounds at a time

Nice To Haves

Associate’s Degree in management or technical/scientific discipline preferred

Responsibilities

Cost estimating for all phases of machining process
Review of part/component/system technical data for completeness and accuracy
Processes definition & development of documentation
Identification of tooling, jig and fixture requirements & support/input/review of engineering designs
CNC file development, test and implementation
Set-up
Rough and finish machining
Identification of machine tool requirements
Shop layout planning
Provide support to either Project Manager or mid-level/junior Engineering/Science personnel in the areas of scheduling, data gathering/limited analyses preparation of technical/project reports, test reports, drawings, specifications and associated documentation
Participate in test or project events as assigned by Project Manager or Engineering supervisor
Report project status and results
Other duties as assigned
