About The Position

We are exploring the opportunity to build an AI-native production studio that uses generative AI to create films. We are looking for experts from AI-native production companies, conventional studios, streaming platforms, and content-distribution businesses who can help us understand the industry and develop the right business and operating model.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of relevant experience, preferably 10+ years, in film, television, animation, digital media, branded content, or AI-enabled production.
• Experience working at or building an AI-native production company, film or television studio, streaming platform, or content-distribution business.
• Direct knowledge of studio business models, production costs, pricing, customer acquisition, and project-level economics.
• Experience working with content buyers such as streaming platforms, broadcasters, studios, brands, agencies, or distributors.
• A practical understanding of how generative AI is changing content development, production, and post-production.
• The ability to share actual examples, indicative economics, and lessons from projects or businesses they have operated.

Responsibilities

• Consult on business models for AI and conventional studios in content development, production, financing, distribution, and monetization.
• Advise on revenue models including production services, commissioned content, licensing, streaming platforms, broadcasters, theatrical distribution, advertising, branded content, and owned intellectual property.
• Provide insights into customers and sales, including identifying buyers, key decision-makers, sales channels, sales cycles, and relationship building with buyers and distribution partners.
• Consult on pricing and commercial structures such as project fees, cost-plus models, licensing fees, minimum guarantees, royalties, revenue shares, and co-production arrangements.
• Analyze cost structures and economics, including development and production costs, team structure, AI and technology costs, marketing and distribution expenses, margins, break-even timelines, and project-level profitability.
• Evaluate AI-enabled production, identifying cost/timeline reductions, required human team capabilities, and commercial, copyright, talent, and quality risks.
• Recommend a viable operating model for starting and scaling an AI production studio, considering focus areas like production services, commissioned content, original IP, branded content, technology-enabled services, or a combination.
