About The Position

Chamberlux Automata is seeking an Expert Technician specializing in AV/Network and Residential Automation to join their team. This role involves designing, building, and supporting high-end home environments for a discerning clientele in the SF Bay Area. Requirements

  • Honed professional skills, including personal process QA and recordkeeping.
  • Time management and prioritization capabilities.
  • Unquestionable communication and coordination skills, both internal and client-facing.
  • Proficiency with email, online calendars, and apps (Google Workspace, Asana, REVU, etc.).
  • Ability to interpret, reference, and mark up professional drawing packages (REVU Bluebeam, AutoCAD, Visio, etc.).
  • Deep understanding of systems architecture.
  • Network administration, WiFi deployment, and maintenance.
  • Control system administration and basic system admin skills for working with remote programmers (Crestron, Josh, Savant, RTI, or others).
  • Audio and Video commissioning to industry standards and best practices.
  • Home automation system setup (lighting, shades, sensors, controls, multiroom audio, surround sound, video projection).
  • Familiarity with all typical AV device installations, including flat panel displays, projectors & screens, motorized mounts and housings, recessed and invisible speakers, panelized controls for lighting and shades, motorized shades, security cameras/NVR, and other low-voltage systems.
  • Documented experience in all mandatory professional and technical skills.
  • Conversational familiarity at a minimum with all desired skills.
  • Industry certification from AVIXA, CEDIA, and/or 15 years industry experience with 5 years in a similar role.
  • Clean driver's license.

Responsibilities

  • First line of response to clients for service and support requests.
  • Resolving support issues and documenting all adjustments to the systems.
  • Completing the final stages of projects, including commissioning, programming, punch list items, creating quick start guides, and training homeowners.
  • Scheduling service and support requests within larger project schedules.
  • Maintaining accuracy of project and service documentation daily (Asana, Google Sheets).
  • Understanding design intent and client expectations to achieve project goals in a timely manner.
  • Daily communication with stakeholders and project teams to evaluate progress and plan accordingly.
  • Preparing materials and tools for upcoming work.
  • Implementing specified systems, including onsite work, cabling, installation, testing, and configuration.
  • Guiding and mentoring junior team members on best practices.
  • Attending and contributing significantly to regular production meetings.
