About The Position

Buerkle Hyundai, a family-owned Hyundai dealership with over 60 years of service to the Twin Cities, is looking for an experienced and motivated Service Advisor to join their Main Shop team. The dealership prides itself on exceptional customer service, teamwork, and long-term employee success. The Service Advisor will act as the primary contact between customers and technicians, ensuring efficient and accurate service visits. This role involves recommending maintenance, managing repair orders, and providing a high-quality customer experience.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a Service Advisor at a franchised automotive dealership (Hyundai or import experience preferred)
  • Proven track record of customer satisfaction and retention
  • Strong automotive repair and maintenance knowledge
  • Excellent communication, organization, and multitasking skills
  • CDK DMS experience preferred (or similar platforms such as Reynolds & Reynolds or Dealertrack)
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required
  • Customer service skills: courteous, friendly, able to handle customer complaints diplomatically and politely.
  • Communication skills: ability to clearly explain technician’s repair recommendations to customers while communicating customer needs to technicians.
  • Comprehension skills: ability to comprehend customers questions and concerns as well as what is being said when technicians give complex service recommendations.
  • Engineering and mechanical expertise: extensive knowledge in these areas is essential when looking over complex technical documents, ordering online and speaking with technicians.
  • Troubleshooting skills: ability to think on their feet and quickly resolve issues when customers change their minds about service work, repairs are running behind schedule or parts arrive late.
  • Math and writing skills: Service Advisors prepare and calculate estimates so having good math and writing skills are an essential part of the job.

  • CDK DMS experience preferred (or similar platforms such as Reynolds & Reynolds or Dealertrack)

Responsibilities

  • Greet customers promptly and professionally; identify and document service concerns
  • Prepare accurate repair orders and communicate clearly with technicians and customers
  • Review inspections, maintenance needs, and estimates with transparency and integrity
  • Manage repair status updates, warranty claims, and recall processes efficiently
  • Support dealership goals while maintaining top-tier Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI) scores
  • Utilize CDK DMS and related systems for scheduling, communication, and repair tracking
