About The Position

MA-2: Experienced Medical Assistant. This role focuses on autonomy, advanced clinical skills, and efficiency. The Experienced Medical Assistant manages patient flow and rooming independently, performs advanced clinical procedures, supports providers and clinical staff, and helps manage clinical workflows. The role also includes mentoring, serving as a preceptor for externs, and assisting with onboarding and orientation of MA-1 staff.

Requirements

2–5 years of experience.
Medical Assistant certification preferred.
Strong EHR proficiency and organizational skills.
Ability to prioritize and work independently.
Fully independent in daily duties.
Demonstrates strong clinical judgment.
Trusted to manage complex workflows.

Medical Assistant certification.

Responsibilities

Independently manage patient flow and rooming.
Perform advanced procedures, including EKGs, ABIs, injections, and wound care.
Administer vaccines and medications as directed.
Manage Athena tasks, patient cases, and in-basket messages.
Process referrals, prior authorizations, and patient forms.
Provide patient education and appropriately escalate clinical concerns.
Serve as a resource to providers and clinical staff.
Act as a preceptor for externs.
Assist with onboarding and orientation of MA-1 staff.
