About The Position

Harris Williams seeks to hire an Experienced M&A Associate for the Business Services team in the Richmond, Virginia office. This role involves specializing in M&A and private capital advisory services, where clients rely on the firm to help unlock value in their business and turn ambitious goals into reality. The position offers a high level of exposure to clients and senior bankers, with associates responsible for driving work forward in partnership with analysts. Requirements

  • One or more (1+) years of sell-side M&A experience in the Associate seat or two or more (2+) years of equivalent experience in ancillary fields (private equity, transaction advisory/valuation services, corporate development, or other investment banking products).
  • Ability to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
  • FINRA licensing: SIE Exam, Series 79, and Series 63 must be acquired within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Perform and synthesize the findings from complex analyses through financial modeling and the application of valuation methodologies.
  • Identify trends in data and maturely articulate the impact of those patterns to various internal and external stakeholders, spoken and written.
  • Lead analytical work and oversee junior team workstreams in support of live deal execution and new business development.
  • Ensure effective use of the analyst’s time, balancing delegation with a collaborative approach.
  • Deliver real-time performance feedback to analysts.
  • Articulate thoughts and ideas with clarity and confidence.
  • Speak up during internal and external discussions, as directed by your deal team.
  • Translate technical concepts, data, and analysis into a compelling story that resonates in the market.
  • Participate in firm initiatives outside of day-to-day deal work, such as: Recruiting committee, Junior banker trainings, Firm-wide marketing, diversity, and community outreach efforts.
