About The Position

The Analyst performs polarized light microscopy analysis of bulk samples for asbestos. Analysis of non-culturable surface and air samples for fungi is a plus but is not required. The Analyst validates and reviews data for accuracy, uploads laboratory data into the LIMS, and reports results to clients. The role schedules sample workloads according to due dates and sample hold times and requires knowledge, discretion, and judgment in operating job-specific laboratory testing equipment. This is a pipeline posting for future hiring needs; the company is not currently hiring for this role.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology, Biology, Geology, or a closely related science.
• 1–2 years of laboratory work experience involving mold and/or asbestos microscopy analysis.
• Authorization to work indefinitely in the United States without restriction or sponsorship.
• Professional working proficiency in English, including the ability to read, write, and speak in English.

Nice To Haves

• Eight units of Microbiology coursework.
• Experience analyzing non-culturable surface and air samples for fungi.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and analyze aerobiological, environmental, and water samples for fungal, asbestos, and bacteria analysis.
• Accurately enter and report analytical data using the LIMS.
• Perform independent data reviews of other analysts’ work.
• Analyze reference materials, proficiency samples, and other quality control samples as needed.
• Confirm laboratory results as requested by client services personnel.
• Complete analytical testing quality-assurance tasks as needed.
• Assist in pursuing, receiving, and maintaining necessary laboratory accreditations.
• Maintain and update required training and quality-assurance documents onsite.
• Coordinate and manage projects according to rush status and due times to ensure timely delivery.
• Follow company policies and procedures and ensure coworkers do the same.
