As a Experienced Data Scientist, You Will Apply machine learning, econometrics, and emerging AI methods, to support internal teams and improve business operations. Explore and prototype GenAI and Agentic AI solutions that increase efficiency, automate routine tasks, and enhance customer decision‑making. Develop and deploy forecasting models to optimize inventory, strengthen supply chains, and improve financial outcomes. Contribute to projects across multiple areas such as forecasting, supply chain analysis, simulation modeling, and LLM‑based applications. Collaborate with engineering, operations, product, and enterprise business teams. Translate complex statistical findings into clear "so-what" insights for non-technical stakeholders in Finance and Operations. Leverage foundational knowledge of HVACR and cold-chain industries to develop proprietary algorithms that align with business goals. Adapt ideas from academic research, conferences, and industry best practices into practical, real‑world models and tools that can be used across the company.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Economics, Engineering, Mathematics or another relevant technical field.
  • 3 or more years of relevant experience or advanced degree.
  • Proficiency in validating raw data quality using automation, ETL methods, and exploratory data analysis (EDA) techniques.
  • Foundational knowledge of statistics, including regression, casual inference, and predictive modeling.
  • Ability to work effectively in a virtual and globally distributed team environment.
  • Ability to translate ambiguous business problems into clear analytical or data science tasks and communicate to stakeholders with minimum analytics knowledge.
  • Interest or experience in applying analytics within Sales, Marketing, Finance, or Supply Chain functions.
  • Experience with data wrangling and modeling using Python or a similar programming language, and ability to collaborate using Git.
  • This position follows a hybrid work model and requires regular presence at one of our Copeland offices. Candidates must be able to commute to and work from St. Louis, MO; Sidney, OH; or Kennesaw, GA as part of their role responsibilities.
