About The Position

Protiviti is looking for an Experienced Consultant to join their Technology Audit & Advisory team in Houston. As an Experienced Consultant, you will receive excellent training and mentorship to deepen your understanding of business processes and build technical skills. You will conduct interviews, compile and analyze data, and document findings. Through interaction with clients and project teams, you will develop professional relationships that contribute to exceptional client service. You will learn time and project management and take ownership of assignments. The Technology Audit & Advisory team focuses on helping clients manage technology risks, identifying solutions incorporating AI and automation, and leveraging analytics, AI, and automation for more efficient and insightful analysis of technology risks. The team also supports certifications and training to stay at the forefront of emerging risks and trends. Consultants in this area work with clients on various technology-related topics including Cybersecurity, Cloud Assurance, Project Risk Advisory, Technology Risk Management and Assessment, IT General Controls (ITGC), AI and Data Governance, Data Privacy, Technology Regulations, Enterprise Applications, Technology Resilience, IT Sarbanes-Oxley Compliance, Emerging Technologies, 2nd Line Controls Governance, and Technology Enablement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline (e.g., Accounting, Finance, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or business-related field).
  • 1+ years working in internal audit, consulting, assurance services, risk and control programs, or related field, either in professional services or industry.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite applications with specific emphasis on Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Secondary emphasis on Visio and Access.
  • Enjoy gathering, summarizing, and examining data.
  • Motivated to learn and interested in data and technology, including the latest trends and developments.
  • Passionate about contributing to client relationships and providing clients with exceptional experiences.
  • Facilitate teamwork by contributing to team effort, sharing responsibility for team results, and exhibiting a positive attitude.
  • Eager to learn the client’s business and industry to build business knowledge and skills.
  • Interest in working with a diverse portfolio of clients across multiple industries.
  • Versed in leveraging AI to enhance personal productivity as well as internal audit and SOX activities, including planning, fieldwork and reporting.
  • Experience with or understanding of IT audit methodologies and developing necessary audit deliverables, including process flows, work programs, audit reports, and control summaries.
  • Experience with or understanding of commonly used internal control frameworks, including COBIT, ISO 27001, NIST CSF, CIS, ITIL, etc.
  • Experience with or understanding of Sarbanes-Oxley Act provisions and methodologies for achieving compliance, in particular the technology implications and requirements.

  • Exposure to and/or interest in the latest trends and developments in data and technology, including high-growth topics of cybersecurity, cloud, data governance, privacy, analytics, enterprise applications (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Workday, Salesforce, Microsoft Dynamics etc.), disaster recovery, systems development methodologies etc.
  • Exposure to and/or interest in analytics and technology enablement (automation, AI/ML etc.).
  • Proficiency in PowerBI, Tableau, Alteryx, SQL, Python, and/or RPA Solutions.
