About The Position
Olsson is seeking an Experienced Civil Engineer to join its Water Resources team. The team provides planning, design, permitting, and construction-phase services. In this role, you will help develop ideas and designs that deliver purposeful, high-quality solutions to engineering and design needs, while contributing to water resources projects that positively affect communities. The position is available on a hybrid schedule from either the Overland Park, Kansas, or Springfield, Missouri, office.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, environmental engineering, or a related field.
- Engineer Intern (EI) or (IE) certificate.
- At least two years of experience.
- Proficiency in Civil 3D and HEC-RAS modeling software.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to contribute and work well on a team.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills.
Responsibilities
- Perform varied engineering tasks and gain practical experience with diverse engineering areas, methods, and programs.
- Execute technical engineering calculations.
- Develop hydrologic and hydraulic models for floodplain modeling and mapping.
- Design and manage stormwater projects, including channel stabilization and restoration, storm drain systems, culverts, and water quality features.
- Coordinate with project managers and project teams to achieve project objectives.
- Introduce new ideas to projects and demonstrate creativity and initiative.
