About The Position

Baker Tilly is seeking an Experienced Assurance Associate to provide audit and other assurance services to privately held and publicly traded clients at various stages of development. The role is part of an engagement team and involves working directly with clients to address accounting and business challenges, gather information, perform testing, and respond to client questions. Associates receive on-the-job coaching and mentoring and participate in firm-wide learning and development programs while developing client service, technical accounting, and relationship-building skills. Work location status should be discussed with a Baker Tilly talent acquisition professional.

Requirements

Four-year degree and eligibility for licensure.
At least 1 year of experience.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor’s or master’s degree in accounting or a related business degree, with sufficient coursework and credits to sit for the CPA exam in the state of consideration.
Outstanding academic performance; preferred GPA of 3.0 or above.
Relevant internship, work experience, and/or involvement with a professional organization.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment with all levels of client personnel.
Demonstrated time management, communication, interpersonal, relationship-building, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
Organizational and analytical skills, initiative, and adaptability.
Proficiency with Microsoft programs such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

Provide assurance and consulting services as a member of engagement teams.
Engage with clients throughout the year to gather information needed to complete testing and respond to questions.
Perform substantive testing on clients’ balance sheets and income statements.
Test internal controls for deficiencies and discuss recommendations for improvement.
Participate in on-the-job coaching, mentoring, and firm-wide learning and development programs.
Network and build relationships internally and externally with clients.
