About The Position

The Experience Guide is responsible for creating a positive experience for all guests from arrival to departure. This role involves guiding visitors to experiences that match their motivations for attending and serving as a Minnetrista Ambassador through educational experiences and customer service. The position requires alignment with Minnetrista’s cultural values and a visitor-centric focus, ensuring effective working relationships by cultivating professional credibility with staff, administration, and volunteers. The individual must demonstrate maturity, sound judgment, a positive attitude, and work collaboratively with peers and colleagues.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 0-1 year of experience in customer service or tourism-related position
  • Excellent communication skills and a clear speaking voice
  • Professional attitude and appearance
  • Sound interpersonal skills
  • Good record keeping skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects/tasks
  • Ability to work with individuals of all ages and backgrounds
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including familiarity with Word and Outlook
  • Alignment with Minnetrista’s cultural values and visitor-centric focus
  • Ability to cultivate and maintain professional credibility with all staff, administration, and volunteers
  • Demonstrates maturity, sound judgment, and a positive attitude
  • Works collaboratively with peers and colleagues throughout the organization and community

Responsibilities

  • Achieve the organization’s purpose by demonstrating Minnetrista’s vision, values, mission, goals, and strategies daily.
  • Help others achieve the organization’s purpose through collaboration and teamwork.
  • Carry out job function through completing essential duties directly or through subordinate personnel.
  • Welcome visitors by engaging them in casual conversation to orient them to the site, identify visitor motivations, and guide them to experiences that fit their interest and purpose.
  • Listen to the needs of the visitor and connect them to solutions.
  • Inform visitors about future programs and events to sell and cross-sell these experiences to the public.
  • Provide on-site programming, including orienting and leading school and group tours; giving informal and formal presentations to walk-in visitors; and assisting in the development of daily visitor experiences.
  • Provide support to other programmatic offerings as assigned.
  • Participate in visitor services and institutional training opportunities to gain proficiency and to learn information about Minnetrista and the community.
  • Perform all other duties required.
