About The Position

Experience Designer About HXP At Humanitarian Experience (HXP), we design and operate humanitarian service expeditions that empower teenagers to make a difference across the globe. About the Role Experience Designers create the magic of HXP trips by planning and coordinating every detail that makes these life changing experiences possible for builders. They do not view contracting a bus simply as arranging transportation, but as creating a space where a builder may come to know God for the first time. They consider every aspect of the trip through the lens of the experience each builder will have. As an Experience Designer, you will become the expert in your assigned region. Working closely with our local coordinator, you will identify and implement projects, negotiate with vendors, write itineraries, manage budgets, oversee vendor contracts and relationships, train trip leaders, and direct the execution of trips.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Experience Design, Languages, Operations, Hospitality, Business, International Development, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Proven ability to manage complex projects with multiple timelines, stakeholders, and deliverables
  • Experience in logistics and/or event or travel planning
  • Strong negotiation skills and experience managing vendor relationships
  • High attention to detail with strong organizational and planning abilities
  • Experience building and managing budgets, including tracking expenses and staying within defined limits
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to handle unexpected issues during execution
  • Clear and effective communication skills, both written and verbal, across diverse teams and contexts
  • Comfortable with frequent international travel and on-the-ground evaluations in diverse environments

Responsibilities

  • Design intentional, end-to-end trip experiences that prioritize meaningful and spiritual impact for builders.
  • Develop deep knowledge of the assigned region and ensure consistent, high-quality trip execution.
  • Identify and implement impactful service projects in collaboration with local coordinators.
  • Source, negotiate, and manage vendors to ensure quality and reliability.
  • Create and oversee detailed itineraries that balance logistics, service, and overall experience.
  • Manage trip budgets, track expenses, and ensure trips stay within defined financial limits.
  • Train and equip trip leaders to successfully execute trips and deliver strong experiences.
  • Evaluate trip performance, gather feedback, and improve systems and execution over time.
  • Travel within assigned regions to scout and inspect project sites, lodging, and logistics partners, ensuring quality and alignment with HXP standards.
