About The Position

The Tooling Expeditor is responsible for supporting production with correct supplies, tools and equipment. This role involves supporting machine set up by supplying print plates, cutting dies and ink, monitoring and reporting all tooling damage, and the ability to work and repair print plates and cutting dies. The position requires flexibility to work on converting machines when required and to organize ink racks, die racks, print plates and maintain housekeeping. The Expeditor adheres to the production schedule, makes recommendations for optimizing the schedule to meet cost, quality and service goals, and reports any unusual scheduling issues to the Supervisor. The role also requires compliance with all company policies and procedures, including safety and maintaining good housekeeping. Additional duties may be assigned by management.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years experience working in corrugated manufacturing plant as tooling or production support
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Able to read a tape measure with speed and accuracy
  • Able to calculate figures and amounts such as percentages, measurement, volume and rate
  • Able to apply concepts of high school math
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or graphic form
  • Ability to deal with problems involving one or more concrete variables in standardized situations
  • Able to read and follow instructions on factory masters
  • Working knowledge of equipment design and capabilities that can be translated into efficient operation
  • Working knowledge of product layouts and production specifications
  • Working knowledge of product quality specifications
  • Working knowledge of quality standards

  • Prior work experience in the corrugated industry
