About The Position

A Food Expeditor (or Expo) is the crucial link between the kitchen and food runners, managing the flow of orders to ensure food is prepared accurately, plated properly and delivered quickly in a fast-paced environment. They inspect dishes for presentation, temperature, and correctness, communicate with cooks, call out orders, add sauces and ensure smooth service transitions.

Requirements

  • Clear, concise, and assertive communication.
  • Ability to handle multiple orders and tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to keep track of orders and priorities.
  • Attention to detail to ensure accuracy and quality.
  • Ability to stay calm and make quick decisions in a high-pressure setting.

Responsibilities

  • Organize and prioritize food tickets, ensuring correct order assembly.
  • Inspect dishes for presentation, portion size, temperature, and accuracy before they leave the kitchen.
  • Communicate with cooks, update food runners on order status, and relay special requests or item shortages.
  • Ensure orders are complete and perfect.
  • Call for food runners to pick up completed dishes and ensure timely delivery to guests.
