About The Position

Albany Engineered Composites (AEC) is a leading designer and manufacturer of advanced composite aerospace structures, subassemblies, and components with over 50 years of innovation in defense and commercial industries. Our expertise is found on major commercial platforms like Boeing's 7-series and Airbus A380, as well as defense programs such as the F-35 Lightning II and CH-53K Heavy-lift Helicopter. We are seeking a high-energy and motivated Expeditor Lead to join our team, playing an integral role in ensuring efficient material movement and execution to enable operational success.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 3–5 years of experience in material handling, inventory control, or supply chain management in a manufacturing or aerospace environment.
  • Experience in a leadership or team lead role is preferred.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Proficiency in inventory management software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar).
  • Familiarity with Lean principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Ability to lift and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds as needed.
  • Must be a US Person as required by Department of Defense Contractor regulations.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Forklift Certification.
  • APICS or similar inventory management certification.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the timely delivery of materials to layup, assembly, and paint departments.
  • Ensure material handlers adhere to standard operating procedures for safe and efficient handling.
  • Monitor workflows to minimize delays and optimize material flow across departments.
  • Assist in conducting cycle counts to maintain inventory accuracy and integrity.
  • Support inventory reconciliation efforts to resolve discrepancies promptly.
  • Oversee proper storage of materials and products in designated locations, ensuring compliance with quality and safety standards.
  • Provide daily direction and guidance to material handling teams, fostering collaboration and accountability.
  • Assist the supervisor with tracking and updating key performance metrics (KPIs).
  • Act as the point of contact for escalations and problem resolution within the material handling team.
  • Lead by example in promoting workplace safety, efficiency, and a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Collaborate with the supervisor to identify process improvements and implement best practices.
  • Contribute to employee training and development initiatives.
  • Assist with documentation, reporting, and other administrative tasks as needed.
