About The Position

Premier Automation is seeking an Expediting Assistant to join our Purchasing team. This role will support supply chain operations by tracking incoming materials, coordinating with vendors, and helping ensure production timelines stay on track. This position is ideal for an early-career professional who is detail-oriented, organized, and interested in building a foundation in purchasing or supply chain within a fast-paced automation environment. Premier Automation designs and manufactures advanced automation, motor control, and drive systems for industrial customers worldwide, combining engineering expertise, in-house panel fabrication, and system testing to deliver precision-built solutions.

Requirements

  • 1-2 years of prior experience in an office, administrative, or customer service role preferred
  • Interest in learning about purchasing, supply chain, or logistics
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Comfortable managing multiple priorities and following up on open tasks
  • Authorization to work in the United States
  • Must pass a background check and drug screening

Nice To Haves

  • ERP or data entry experience is a plus (Epicor preferred)
  • Exposure to supply chain, purchasing, or vendor coordination in a work or school setting
  • Associate's degree or coursework in business, operations, or a related field

Responsibilities

  • Contact vendors to request and confirm shipping and delivery details, and handle communication regarding order discrepancies
  • Track shipment status and update our ERP system (Epicor) with accurate delivery info
  • Communicate updates or delays to the internal purchasing and scheduling teams
  • Assist with maintaining timelines for incoming materials related to ongoing projects
  • Keep accurate records and follow internal processes to support on-time production
