Expanded Function Dental Assistant - EFDA
About The Position
Valley Brook Dental is hiring a full-time Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA) for its modern, single-doctor practice in McMurray, Pennsylvania. The practice focuses on advanced cosmetic and implant dentistry and provides patient-first care in a collaborative, technology-focused environment. Its five operatories include three dedicated to the doctor and two to hygiene. The fully digital office uses digital scanners for implants, crowns, and bridges, an in-office dental milling machine, a SprintRay 3D printer, and a Cone Beam CT scanner. The EFDA will provide restorative care and support advanced clinical workflows, including placing restorations, performing digital intraoral scans, operating the milling machine, and assisting the doctor chairside. The practice is willing to train a suitable candidate on its milling technology. The schedule is Monday through Thursday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Compensation is $27.00–$39.00 per hour, depending on experience.
Requirements
- Valid Pennsylvania EFDA certification.
- Current dental X-ray certification.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Warm patient-side manner.
- Desire to work closely within a tight-knit, technology-focused team.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with digital workflows, including scanning, 3D printing, or milling.
Responsibilities
- Place high-quality dental restorations.
- Perform digital intraoral scanning for crowns, bridges, and implant planning.
- Operate the in-office milling machine to fabricate restorations.
- Provide efficient, proactive chairside assistance to the doctor during advanced procedures.
- Ensure operatories are sterilized, stocked, and prepared for patient care.
