About The Position

Upstage Crew Services is actively hiring individuals for a leg of the annual Lantern Festival Tour. These individuals will work a one month contract to install lighting fixtures at Franklin Park Zoo in Boston, MA. You will assist in the set up & operation of lighting fixtures throughout the park.

Requirements

Excellent understanding of, and adherence to, safety requirements.
Willingness to work diligently with direction and limited supervision.
Good problem-solving skills, common sense and good judgment.
Ability to work with frequent interruptions while maintaining strong detail orientation, be flexible and adaptable under varied conditions and requirements, and maintain composure/perform well under time pressures.
Typically requires the ability to stand for long periods, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crawl and/or sit on the floor.
Use well-developed fine and gross motor skills and exhibit manual dexterity.
Ability to regularly lift, push, pull or otherwise move and position a minimum of 50 pounds.
Ability to hear and communicate verbally as well as read and speak English.
Must be able to be contacted and respond on short notice; is required to arrive at work sites on time and ready to work.

Responsibilities

Unload trucks and move gear to set up location in accordance with clients’ instructions.
Unloads cases of equipment and/or lighting fixtures and scenery.
Runs, coils and/or tapes power and control cables.
Constructs venue lighting fixtures, read lighting plots
Troubleshoot basic low voltage electrical systems
Reports to the Upstage Supervisor or Labor Coordinator.
May perform basic troubleshooting and maintenance of equipment.
Performs other related duties as required.
Must work safely and look out for teammates on the job as well.
