Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science or related field is required.
  • Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA.
  • Requires Advanced Cardiac Life Support through the AHA within 6 months of hire.

Nice To Haves

  • 1-3 years of relevant experience is preferred.
  • May require ECG course completion.

Responsibilities

  • Conducts and interprets exercise stress tests under physician supervision, including ECG monitoring, blood pressure analysis, and patient symptom evaluation.
  • Provides patient care by instructing, monitoring and recording patient's responses to a rehabilitation program that has been developed by an exercise physiologist and/or a referring provider.
  • Trains and demonstrate proper exercise techniques and equipment use.
  • Instructs patients in safe exercise routines.
  • Utilizes skills to determine the biophysical, psychosocial, environmental, self-care, spiritual and educational needs of the client/family/significant other to develop, implement and revise the plan of care.
  • Completes screenings and assessments with emphasis on safe, evidence-based exercise prescriptions for all apparently healthy and chronic disease populations.
