Exercise Specialist (Physical Therapy Aide)
About The Position
Evolve Physical Therapy, a PT-founded and operated practice in Brooklyn, is seeking a motivated, energetic Exercise Specialist with personal or group training experience and an interest in building a career in rehabilitation. The company provides training and tools to help Exercise Specialists develop skills in rehabilitative and corrective exercise. The role also supports Physical Therapists and the front desk with in-office procedures and other assigned duties. Candidates should be team-oriented and interested in growing with the company long term; the role is not intended for seasonal or temporary employment. Full-time and part-time positions are available at the Brooklyn outpatient clinic. The schedule is Monday through Friday, with morning and evening availability required. Full-time employees are offered an extensive benefits package, including medical coverage, PTO, and a 401(k). The stated pay range is $16–$20 USD.
Requirements
- Availability Monday through Friday, mornings and evenings.
- At least 1 year of experience in personal training, group exercise, exercise science, yoga, Pilates, or martial arts; certifications are not required.
- Basic knowledge of anatomy and physiology.
- Willingness to learn and take initiative.
- Minimum 1-year commitment to the position.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Patient, friendly, upbeat, and outgoing personality.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Excellent ability to multitask.
- Team player with a positive attitude and willingness to go beyond job-specific duties when needed.
Responsibilities
- Instruct, motivate, and assist patients in learning and improving functional activities and workouts.
- Teach patients and family members the proper use of exercise equipment and home exercise programs.
- Manage multiple responsibilities at once.
- Perform and maintain general office and housekeeping responsibilities.
- Assist therapists and front-desk staff with assigned duties.
- Communicate effectively with team members and clients.
- Be willing to grow into managerial and/or marketing positions.
