The Surgical Trauma Intensive Care Unit (STICU) at Carolinas Medical Center (CMC) in Charlotte, NC is a 29‑bed, high‑acuity unit serving patients recovering from complex surgeries and life‑threatening injuries. As part of the region’s only Level I Trauma Center, the STICU provides advanced care for trauma, acute and emergent general surgery, surgical oncology, liver transplant, and other critically ill populations. For an Exercise Physiologist , this fast‑paced medical center environment offers a unique opportunity to work alongside an interdisciplinary care team supporting patients with complex cardiopulmonary and physiological needs—playing a key role in early mobility, functional recovery, and the transition from critical illness to rehabilitation. Job Description: Assess, plan and direct patient mobilization and exercise programs in an inpatient setting. Works closely with other disciplines and specialties within the department and facility as well as patients and families to assure a cohesive approach to patient care
