About The Position

Spectrum Healthcare Resources has a potential opportunity for a civilian Exercise Physiologist to provide services at the U.S. Border Patrol Academy in Artesia, NM. This role involves providing direct support to academy leadership, physical training (PT) departments, instructors, and trainees. The Exercise Physiologist will play a key role in ensuring the effectiveness and safety of the physical readiness programs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Physiology, Kinesiology, Human Performance, or related field
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in tactical, military, law enforcement, or high-risk occupational training environments.
  • Current NSCA Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS).
  • Demonstrated expertise in evidence-based training, injury prevention, and performance

  • Master’s degree preferred

Responsibilities

  • Conduct daily observations of PT classes, ensuring adherence to approved curricula and standards, and provide feedback to instructors and leadership.
  • Assist and provide guidance in designing, reviewing, and updating the Pre-Employment Physical Readiness Program annually to reflect current best practices and operational requirements.
  • Assist in leading and coordinating Physical Training Instructor Qualification Courses and providing guidance in standardizing instructor competencies across the academy.
  • Work closely with nutritionists, medical staff, and academy leadership to assist in delivering integrated health and wellness solutions.
  • Collect, analyze, and report on fitness testing and performance data to evidence-based curriculum adjustments and leadership decision-making.
  • Assist with investigating musculoskeletal and environmental injuries, conduct root cause analyses, and provide evidence-based recommendations for risk mitigation.
