The Exercise Physiologist will operate under the direction of the Sports Medicine OIC and assist provider(s) supporting Basic Military Training (BMT) and/or Technical Skills Training (TST) units with the oversight and administration of exercise/physical training programs. This role involves the evaluation and treatment of Airmen and Trainees, including instructors, within the scope of care detailed below. The position requires performing running gait assessments and education, developing and implementing strength training and conditioning programs, and facilitating education on fitness, health concepts, injury prevention, and self-rehabilitative techniques. The Exercise Physiologist will also screen for potential injuries/illnesses, design and implement conditioning programs, provide follow-up, and educate on nutrition and acclimatization. They will select, apply, and evaluate interventions, complete documentation, and monitor trainees in various physical activities. Collaboration with training leadership, including Military Training Instructors (MTIs), is essential to optimize training and ensure patient care is coordinated. The role also involves participating in Continuous Process Improvement (CPI) efforts.
