Requirements

Bachelors’ degree in Health, Physical Education, Exercise Physiology or related field required.
CPR required at date of hire.
ACLS required within 6 months of hire.
Arrhythmia training required within 6 months of hire.
6 months of experience required with exercise testing, exercise prescription and consultation in a cardiovascular clinical area.

Nice To Haves

Master's degree preferred.

Responsibilities

Is a primary staff member for all day to day aspects of preventative health programs, both PDMP and Cardiac Rehab.
Completes initial exercise assessment of patients entering the Cardiac Rehab or PDMP Program.
Participates in a team approach to develop the plan of care with associated health care professionals.
Orients participants to exercise program, including demonstration of correct body mechanics and safe use of equipment to execute the exercise prescription.
Works with individuals to develop individualized exercise program and health plan to follow outside of program.
Provides educational programs for participants.
Calculates exercise prescription based on GXT as necessary and updates per patient response.
Completes annual education requirements.
Community Benefit- attends Mended Hearts and/or Better Breathers, and assists with Rose Walk and Pulmonary Fair.
