About The Position

The Chan Zuckerberg Initiative (CZI) was founded in 2015 to harness the power of technology to pursue ambitious societal goals, such as curing or preventing all disease and transforming how students learn. At CZI, employees join a collaborative, mission-driven community focused on driving breakthroughs across its flagship nonprofit organizations, Biohub and Learning Commons. The organization operates at the intersection of innovation and scale, building the infrastructure, partnerships, and capabilities that enable scientists, educators, and innovators to tackle complex challenges with urgency, integrity, and optimism. The Legal and Grants team (Team LeGiT) is a key partner in enabling Biohub's work in frontier AI and biology for disease prevention and cure, and Learning Commons' mission to build AI infrastructure for student learning experiences. Team LeGiT accelerates these missions by structuring, negotiating, and executing strategic partnerships, grants, and contracts, while also providing advice on IP, technology, exempt organization, and labor law. They work directly with scientists, engineers, and educators on AI models, university partnerships, and various tools and products. The team also collaborates with Executive, Operations, Central Tech, and Investments teams to advance philanthropic goals and manages Mark and Priscilla's Family Giving. The team's core purpose is to build trust and ensure the organization operates with integrity.
