Executive Underwriter OR AVP Underwriting Director - Large Casualty
About The Position
Zurich is seeking an experienced Large Casualty Underwriter to join our National Account, Large Casualty Team in our Dallas/Addison office. This role will contribute to achieving profitable production growth and strong renewal retention of our Large Casualty business by evaluating, pricing, and negotiating highly complex large-scale commercial insurance risks, and by cultivating broker and client relationships. The team's motto is 'One Carrier, One Solution,' aiming to sell Domestic Casualty business alongside Umbrella, Property, Financial Lines, Cyber, and International offerings to provide holistic solutions to large, complex customers. This position can be filled at either the Executive Underwriter or AVP, Underwriting Director level, with the final determination based on the selected applicant's experience and skillset. The Large Casualty Underwriter is responsible for underwriting, analyzing, and generating new and renewal business, market-facing production within the Large Casualty, National Accounts division, administering and monitoring underwriting rules and guidelines, insurance laws and regulations, and rating manual rules, and developing and maintaining broker relationships in the South Region. The role involves working within broad limits and authorities on highly complex assignments.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or Equivalent and 5 or more years of experience in the Underwriting or Market Facing area.
- High School Diploma or Equivalent and 10 or more years of experience in the Claims or Underwriting Support area
- Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice including an Associate Degree and 3 or more years of experience in the Underwriting or Market Facing area
- Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice including an Associate Degree and 8 or more years of experience in the Claims or Underwriting Support area
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Experience working on time restraints for quotes on new and renewal business
- Experience working in a team environment
- High School Diploma or Equivalent and 7 or more years of experience in the Underwriting or Market Facing area.
- High School Diploma or Equivalent and 14 or more years of experience in the Claims or Underwriting Support area
- Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice including an Associate Degree and 5 or more years of experience in the Underwriting or Market Facing area
- Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice including an Associate Degree and 12 or more years of experience in the Claims or Underwriting Support area
- Experience with Microsoft Office
