About The Position

Zurich is currently looking to hire an experienced Underwriter to join our Wholesale PLAC team! This position is dedicated to the wholesale broker channel and presents a great opportunity to join our E&S Financial Lines team in either Chicago or New York City! In this role, you will underwrite and perform financial analysis across PLAC risks. The position will have technical, transactional and market facing responsibilities; and it will also make contributions in the areas of product/proposition development, marketing, fulfillment, and portfolio management.

Requirements

High School Diploma or Equivalent and 5 or more years of experience in the Underwriting or Market Facing area or Accounting, Banking, Risk Management OR High School Diploma or Equivalent and 10 or more years of experience in the Claims or Underwriting Support area OR Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice including an Associate Degree and 3 or more years of experience in the Underwriting or Market Facing area or Accounting, Banking, Risk Management OR Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice including an Associate Degree and 8 or more years of experience in the Claims or Underwriting Support area AND Knowledge of Microsoft Office
Experience working on time restraints for quotes on new and renewal business
Experience working in a team environment
High School Diploma or Equivalent and 7 or more years of experience in the Underwriting or Market Facing area, Finance, Accounting, Banking. OR High School Diploma or Equivalent and 14 or more years of experience in the Claims or Underwriting Support area OR Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice including an Associate Degree and 5 or more years of experience in the Underwriting or Market Facing area, Accounting, Banking, Risk Management. OR Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice including an Associate Degree and 12 or more years of experience in the Claims or Underwriting Support area AND Experience with Microsoft Office

Responsibilities

Generating, underwriting, and analyzing financial lines new and renewal policies.
Market facing and production with wholesale brokers.
Administering and monitoring underwriting rules and guidelines, insurance laws and regulations and rating manual rules.
Working within broad limits and authorities on highly complex assignments.
Managing a portfolio of accounts and developing a pipeline of business.
Collaborating and cross selling with other stakeholders and lines of business within Zurich.
