About The Position

Our Executive Risk Solutions (ERS) practice group is a world-class team of 30+ professionals focused on providing thoughtful advice, a unique legal perspective, a broad range of executive risk insurance solutions, and excellent service to our valued clients. ERS professionals have deep experience handling complex executive risk exposures for a variety of clients – from pre-IPO start-ups to multibillion-dollar Fortune 150 corporations. We are currently looking to add a position within our Executive Risk Solutions practice group.

Requirements

  • College degree. Advanced degree (JD/MBA) will be given special consideration.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills (oral and written).
  • Commitment to excellence.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills: ability to build and maintain strong relationships with underwriters, clients and IMA team members.
  • An ability to respond calmly, creatively and quickly in a fast-paced, changing environment.
  • A strong work ethic.
  • The ability to interpret and negotiate insurance contracts.
  • Strong Math skills, including familiarity with ratios, percentages, discounts and commissions.
  • Strong common sense with the ability to handle standard situations and handle and prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Property and casualty license required for state of business and fulfill continuing education requirements to retain license.
  • Computer proficiency with multiple applications: Microsoft Office, etc.
  • Minimum 5+ years relevant work experience.

Responsibilities

  • Interface with internal distribution channels (i.e., production and other client-facing staff) to educate them on management liability products and assist with opportunities in the space.
  • Market new and renewal business for publicly-traded and other companies with complex risk profiles, including: Analysis and interpretation of client financial statements and insurance contracts.
  • Identify areas for improvement within insurance programs and develop strategies for implementing any changes.
  • Communicate with insurance markets and effectively use negotiation skills to secure favorable program terms.
  • Develop/strengthen underwriter relationships and an understanding of the executive liability marketplace (including carrier appetite, capabilities and performance history) in order to effectively represent clients.
  • Understand leading insurance company policy forms and be able to communicate any differences to internal IMA team members as well as to external underwriter and client contacts.
  • Maintain effective working relationships with all client contacts (typically CFO and/or CLO/GC).
  • Contribute to the development of client proposals and learn to effectively communicate proposal material to clients.
  • The willingness to complete additional duties and take on additional responsibility as the need arises.
  • The ability to travel on occasion when business needs arise.
