About The Position

The candidate selected for this position will help shape the safety and security of USAA's most vital leaders by providing unparalleled executive protection services. As a dedicated Executive Protection Officer Senior, you will provide Executive Protection to senior executives and other designated employees and/or their families. Investigates and resolves threats directed at specific assigned person(s), corporate facilities, and senior executive residences. Maintains a wide range of internal and external agency support to coordinate protective services. We offer a flexible work environment that requires an individual to be in the office 4 days per week. This position can be based in one of the following locations: San Antonio, TX. Relocation assistance is not available for this position

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree; OR 4 years of related experience (in addition to the minimum years of experience required) may be substituted in lieu of degree.
  • 6 or more years of experience with a government agency; with active or honorably retired law enforcement status.
  • Successfully completed a U.S. government sponsored or a certified professional protective services/executive protection training program.
  • Proficient training and experience in defensive driving tactics to include advanced situational awareness, evasive maneuvers, emergency braking, and controlling the vehicle in various conditions.
  • Active or honorably retired law enforcement status with eligibility to carry a firearm under the Law Enforcement Officers Safety Act (LEOSA).
  • Demonstrated experience conducting advance work, threat assessments, and residential security operations.
  • Proven ability to exercise discretion, maintain confidentiality, and operate independently under pressure.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively with executives, family members, and stakeholders.
  • Must currently hold or be able to obtain within the first year a state of Texas Level IV Personal Protection Officer license.
  • Must be able to travel domestically and internationally and hold a valid US passport.
  • Possess the strength and physical ability necessary to perform the essential functions of the protective services position.
  • Must be able to obtain a 90% of greater on the USAA Handgun Qualification course.
  • Ability to maintain the highest level of discretion and protect sensitive information.
  • Advanced knowledge in operating and maintaining security equipment and systems and troubleshoot any errors.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior executive protection experience supporting senior leaders in a corporate or government environment.
  • Advance training in emergency medical response (TCCC, EMT, CPR/AED), defensive/evasive driving, and protective intelligence analysis.
  • Experience in global travel risk management, aviation coordination, or international logistics.
  • Strong service orientation and alignment with USAA’s mission and core values.
  • US military experience through military service or a military spouse/domestic partner [optional]

Responsibilities

  • Provides close protection and other security-related functions for the senior executives/designated employees/their families during executive protection assignments, both domestic and/or international.
  • Executes advance planning and threat vulnerability assessments to include offsite and onsite planning, coordination/inspection of all modes of transportation and operating conditions, and requests against the need to ensure all safety and security precautions received by specific assigned person(s).
  • Participates in the development and maintenance of personal profiles (including residence location, activities, requested safety precautions and habits) and conducts risk assessment of all personnel covered by protective services.
  • Coordinates with internal stakeholders on enhancing workplace violence prevention policy, process and procedural matters, to include developing and maintaining workplace awareness and training within the company.
  • Complete suspicious activity reports, incident reports, shift logs, pattern of life reports, medical treatment reports, and other administrative requirements.
  • Ensures risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures.
