About The Position

This position covers the east region and is .8 Admin and .2 Clinical. The Executive Medical Director demonstrates advanced expertise in ambulatory practice operations and leads the adoption of evidence-based, multidisciplinary care models aligned with the latest clinical standards. They drive physician network quality, cost management, and performance initiatives; ensure efficient, ethical use of clinical resources and adherence to evidence-based protocols. This role ensures compliance with regulatory, legal, and accreditation standards while advancing safe care practices, care coordination, and continuity across the network. The Executive Medical Director oversees documentation integrity, revenue capture, budgeting, and financial performance; contributes to physician compensation models, contracting decisions, and risk mitigation strategies. They partner across clinical and administrative dyads to execute strategic plans, support growth, and lead quality, patient experience, and operational excellence initiatives. Additionally, they lead, mentor, and evaluate medical directors and clinicians; support recruitment, development, performance improvement, and foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Medical Doctor (MD or DO) from an accredited institution
  • Board certification in area of clinical expertise or has equivalent qualifications in compliance with medical staff credentialing process.
  • Active medical license in the State of Michigan (or eligible for licensure)
  • At least 5 years of progressive leadership experience
  • Proven ability to lead clinical teams across multiple practices
  • Strong interpersonal, strategic, and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated success in quality improvement, physician engagement, and healthcare operations.
