About The Position

AMCP’s Postdoctoral Executive Fellowship is an immersive, year-long training program in the Washington, D.C., metropolitan area. It offers a rich, in-depth learning experience for pharmacists interested in health care association leadership or managed care pharmacy. The program reflects AMCP’s dedication to developing leaders in managed care and highlights the association’s role as a leading professional body focused on affordable medicines, improved health outcomes, and wise healthcare spending. The fellowship provides collaborative training and professional development in areas such as Governance, Strategy Development and Implementation, Strategic Communications, Professional Affairs, AMCP Foundation, and Chapter Operational Leadership. The Fellow will act as a brand ambassador for AMCP, with opportunities to engage with external organizations and thought leaders to broaden their understanding of the healthcare ecosystem and build their professional network. The program's scope aligns with the Certified Association Executive (CAE) domains and content areas. The latter half of the fellowship can be customized to align with the Fellow's specific career goals. The AMCP Executive Fellow works directly with the CEO and other AMCP leaders, serving as an adjunct member of the AMCP Leadership Team. The Fellow benefits from weekly dedicated meeting time with the CEO. The program runs from June 23 to June 30 of the following calendar year. Overnight travel may be required up to 25% of the time.

Requirements

• Must have or be scheduled to receive a Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree from an ACPE-accredited pharmacy school before the fellowship’s start date.
• Desire to pursue a career in health care association leadership or managed care practice.
• Must obtain pharmacy licensure at the start of the fellowship program.
