About The Position

AMCP’s Postdoctoral Executive Fellowship is an immersive, year-long training program located in the Washington, D.C., metropolitan area. It offers a rich, in-depth learning experience for pharmacists aspiring to careers in health care association leadership or managed care pharmacy. This program underscores AMCP’s commitment to developing leaders in managed care and highlights the association's role as a premier professional organization focused on improving access to affordable medicines, enhancing health outcomes, and promoting the efficient use of healthcare resources. The fellowship provides collaborative training and professional development across various association leadership domains, including Governance, Strategy Development and Implementation, Strategic Communications, Professional Affairs, AMCP Foundation Chapter, and Operational Leadership. As an ambassador for AMCP, the Fellow will engage with external organizations and thought leaders, broadening their understanding of the healthcare ecosystem and facilitating professional network expansion. The program's curriculum aligns with the Certified Association Executive (CAE) domains and content areas, with the flexibility for the Fellow to tailor the latter half of the year to their specific career aspirations. The AMCP Executive Fellow works directly with the CEO and other AMCP leaders, serving as an adjunct member of the AMCP Leadership Team and benefiting from weekly, dedicated meeting time with the CEO.

Requirements

Must have or be scheduled to receive a Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree from an ACPE-accredited pharmacy school before the fellowship’s start date.
Should have a desire to pursue a career in health care association leadership or managed care practice.
Candidates must obtain their pharmacy licensure at the start of the fellowship program.
